STEM LAB fundraising
New Life Movement is currently seeking to raise $85,000 to establish a state-of-the-art STEM Lab for the youth of Richmond, California. Our aim is to create a comprehensive plan that outlines the benefits of each funding milestone to the Richmond community. With the funds raised, we intend to acquire the necessary technology, hardware, software, and furnishings needed to establish a robust STEM Lab in the heart of the Iron Triangle.
To provide greater clarity on our funding objectives, we have created a strategy based on 10-20k increments to show our stakeholders how each dollar will be spent and how it will benefit marginalized youth in Richmond. We have already made significant strides towards our goal by securing contracts and grants to acquire large-ticket items for the STEMLab over the past year.

Phase 1: Donation of $10,000
By acquiring a desktop computer, New Life Movement will be able to integrate it with our current printer, expanding our capabilities to produce quality materials. This will be complemented by acquiring Adobe and Microsoft licenses, along with tables, chairs, and tools, creating a productive and stimulating learning environment. Additionally, we plan to include various STEM kits to encourage hands-on learning and further explore the world of STEM. Phase 1 Impact: With this initial funding, New Life Movement will hold in-person sessions at the Resource Center and run programs that allow the youth to learn more about Math and Science by introducing youth to STEM Kits that focus on Engineering. In academic settings, knowledge of these software products can help students create visually engaging presentations, design posters and flyers, and produce professional-looking documents for assignments. This can lead to better grades and more engaging and effective communication with peers and instructors. In professional settings, proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft software products is often a requirement for many jobs. Adobe software products, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, are widely used in industries such as graphic design, advertising, and publishing. Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are used in many office environments for tasks such as document creation, data analysis, and presentations. Proficiency in these software products can also enhance career prospects, as employers seek candidates with strong technical skills. Knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft software products can give candidates a competitive advantage in the job market, potentially leading to higher-paying jobs and greater career opportunities. |
Overall, learning the fundamentals of Adobe and Microsoft software products can provide students with valuable skills that are relevant in both academic and professional settings, making it a worthwhile investment of time and effort.

Phase 2: Donation of $10,000
Upon achieving Phase 2 of our fundraising goal, New Life Movement will acquire new printing machines such as a 3D Printer, Label Printer, and Tag Printer, along with the necessary components and accessories. We will purchase storage furniture and organizational systems to enhance our current setup and procure additional software to augment our existing resources. Phase 2 Impact: This phase will have a significant impact on our community. With the acquisition of additional printers, we will guide high school students through various business classes and programs, enabling them to design, manufacture, and market their own products. Our Designer of the Year program will teach participants how to pitch their ideas, create financial analyses, review manufacturing and shipping operations, and understand marketing and sales, contributing to the economic growth of our community. By equipping our youth with these critical business skills, we can help prepare them for successful careers. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the top three skills that employers seek in new graduates are leadership, the ability to work in a team, and communication skills. Business classes and programs can help students develop these skills and provide them with a competitive advantage in the job market. Volunteers from the community will help us expand and deepen the program. |

Phase 3: Donation of $20,000
NewLife Movement will purchase 10 laptops for youth participants to further develop and hone their skills. Laptops will remain at the Resource Center and youth program participants can use them as needed (based on availability) to complete their program deliverables or support their schooling. Phase 3 Impact: This will enable more hands-on learning, leading to better retention, enhanced problem-solving skills, higher engagement, and a better understanding of real-world applications. In addition, this will increase access to technology and resources, allowing youth participants to engage with commonly used software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, or Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator. This exposure can help young people explore various interests and industries without incurring any costs, which is a significant advantage for both youth and caregivers. Overall, this initiative can have a positive impact on youth engagement, learning, and future opportunities. |

Phase 4: Donation of $15,000
In phase 4 NewLife Movement will purchase material goods such as hats, sweatshirts, and tshirts for youth to print their designs on. This will allow youth to learn and consider the entire production process as well as shipping their goods, and customer service. NewLife Movement will use this opportunity to expand the technology options available to youth by purchasing drawing tablets to help foster the creatively inclined. This is also a great opportunity to expand their knowledge in design and marketing with more in-depth instruction and learning materials. Phase 4 Impact: Youth participants will acquire invaluable hands-on experience in creating their own material goods, which will instill essential lessons in entrepreneurship, customer service, and dedication. By gaining these fundamental skills, youth can excel academically and professionally, thus opening doors for future success. The provision of drawing tablets to these young people offers an opportunity to explore creative industries, cultivate new talents, and broaden their career prospects. Furthermore, introducing marginalized youth to the arts can have a profoundly positive impact on their lives. Exposure to artistic expression fosters creativity, builds self-esteem, and provides a means of positive self-expression. Additionally, this initiative provides an opportunity to introduce young people to careers in the arts and creative industries. By doing so, we empower young |
people with more options, encourage them to explore new horizons and increase the likelihood of a brighter future. The Newlife Movement's commitment to providing access to the arts and innovative educational experiences can make a lasting impact on the lives of those involved.

Phase 5: Donation of $15,000
With the generous support of our donors, NewLife Movement will enter its next phase of growth and expand the horizons of youth participants by acquiring a Laser Cutter and Engraver, along with essential supplies and a supplemental DTG printer. This strategic investment will enable our program to broaden its product offerings and empower young entrepreneurs to unleash their creative potential. Phase 5 Impact: With the addition of an extra DTG printer, New Life Movement can expand its programs to accommodate more youth participants and meet the growing demand for their self-run businesses. Youth participants will gain valuable experience in running a business, including analyzing market demand, identifying necessary resources for business expansion, calculating costs and sales projections, launching and marketing new products, and post-sale analysis. This type of hands-on learning fosters essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and financial literacy, which are transferable to academic and professional settings. By providing marginalized youth with the opportunity to learn these skills, New Life Movement is equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in the modern workforce and contribute to the growth of their communities. |
