​New Life Cafe

According to the USDA, as many as 1 in 6 kids in the United States (or around 11.7 million) may struggle with childhood hunger this year alone. New Life Movement is committed to ensuring that the most vulnerable youth and families in our local area are able to access healthy food on a consistent basis, particularly as families continue to dig themselves out of financial hardships caused by the COVID pandemic. 

The New Life Cafe, located in the heart of downtown Richmond, is a community space where we prepare baskets of donated produce to deliver to families in need, as well as sell fresh meals and healthy snacks at affordable prices. The Cafe also serves as a space where Richmond youth can take part in a vocational training program, which gives them the skill and experience to become productive and effective members of the workforce.   

If you would like to donate fresh produce to be delivered to families in need, or if you would like to sign up to receive produce donations, please email [email protected] or call 510-837-4814 to schedule a time for pick up or delivery. No contribution is too small, though we are looking specifically for donations of fresh fruits and vegetables,

This effort is a step toward creating healthy food sustainability in an area that historically has been considered a "food desert." Looking to the future, we see the New Life Cafe as a community resource that is able to sustain our families through any future crisis. What we do today will define our tomorrow.
