Billy is the President and original board member of New Life Movement, as well as the CEO and co-owner of Clean Point Energy, a Richmond-based solar panel and backup battery installation company.
Billy was born and raised in Richmond, California and is very proud of and thankful for the many people, mentors, and organizations that stepped in to help him when he was a child in need. Billy attended Richmond public schools before being recruited as an athlete and enrolling at Laney Junior College in Oakland, California. He played quarterback for the football team and center field for the baseball team, and was later drafted by the Oakland A’s in the 45th round of the 1999 MLB draft. Billy graduated from Laney with an associate’s degree in business communication, then went on to attend the University of California, Davis to play wide receiver for the football team. He graduated in 2003 with degrees in Sociology and Communication. After graduating from UC Davis, Billy pursued and obtained a role as Executive Director for the local nonprofit Boys & Girls Club of El Sobrante. He helped expand the size and reach of the organization’s programs from 50 kids to over 1,000 kids served per year. He was also part of a team that created and operated the region’s largest and most successful teen center, focusing on a critical demographic to serve when addressing violence prevention for our community. As Executive Director for the Boys & Girls Club, Billy earned an executive leadership certificate from University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. After the birth of his son, Billy, along with co-owners Noemi and Amanda, started Clean Point Energy, a woman-owned, community-oriented solar company with a mission to help fight climate change and provide meaningful careers for as many people as possible. Billy has served as President of the Board for New Life Movement since 2017, and he remains excited and proud to be a part of an organization that provides the Richmond community with such sincere support and love. Billy’s goal is to help ensure that New Life Movement continues to grow its professional team and its capacity to positively impact the lives of as many young people as possible. |
